A Little About Me:

Over the years, I have had lower back problems, which in 2008 left it very hard for me to exercise. The pain was intense and working out became frustrating.  After a few years of pilates, strengthening my core and back, I am back in the gym,  re-discovering active lifestyle (In part, what lead me to create the AROO Challenge!!) My challenge is about becoming Stronger and reconnecting with the Outdoors.

 

When I worked at Evans Lake in college, I loved hiking. Do to my injury, it has been years since I felt like I could do a proper hike, and years since I have felt strong.

Since September I have been working with a personal trainer to up my fitness levels with the goal to hike again. This goal is a big extension to this initial goal.

 

I am a competitive person by nature, and this will certainly get me to work harder! My friends and family are watching, making sure I meet these targets. I will post my results weekly on Facebook.

My Challenge:

My AROO Challange,  for the month of May, is to up my fitness activity and become even more Strong.

I will : 

  • Work out 4 days a week (no sweat ; )
  • Walk an average of 9000 steps per day (yes, I have a FitBit)
  • Do  2 proper hikes  (any one up for joining me?)

Evans Lake is a huge site that needs a lot of love and funding to keep it up to date and competitive.
